DG Competition call for proposals for training national judges in EU competition law.

Members of the Association have been involved in proposing, delivering and receiving past training co-funded by the Commission. The Commission are now working on the next round. The purpose is to co-finance projects aimed at improving the knowledge, application and interpretation of EU competition law and further developing legal linguistic skills. Priority topics include application of Articles 101 and 102 TFEU, the Directive 2014/104 on antitrust damages actions, economic principles of competition law, competition law in regulated industries, State Aid and development of legal linguistic skills. Preference will be given to projects offering training courses with consecutive levels, complementarity or an innovative approach compared to existing offers, and projects addressing judges from several member states in their training courses, thus encouraging cross-border networking.

If you are interested, please take note of the terms and conditions in more detail here.

The deadline for applications is 16 April 2018.

Consultations on training justice professionals

The European Commission has launched an open public consultation on training of justice professionals on EU law.

The Commission has asked us to disseminate two questionnaires, so that we help the Commission to evaluate and improve the European judicial training strategy.

You will find more information and details here.

In addition to the general questionnaire on training of justice professionals on EU law, there is a targeted questionnaire, which complements the first one. This targeted questionnaire is intended for specialists of the European judicial training strategy, since it covers issues relating to the implementation of the strategy and to ideas for the future to help us feed in the evaluation of the 2011 strategy and prepare the new one. The targeted questionnaire is available here

The deadline to reply is the same for both questionnaires: 26 April 2018.
